Project description:

The project intends to complement the efforts of all actors in VET with an intervention strategy that seeks tangible results at system level:

  • At macro level: CONSEPT develops new curricula for selected trades. These curricula are complemented by appropriate evaluation procedures. Updated curricula and assessment tests form the basis for more relevant training.
  • At meso level: CONSEPT is strengthening the Continuing Education Centre of the Technical University of Moldova. Thus, the country has a competent provider for continuous training in the technical vocational education system.
  • At school level: CONSEPT supports 22 vocational schools in carrying out quality training according to the new curricula. Reforms at policy level and the introduction of more relevant curricula only make sense when educational institutions meet the new standards. The project supports a considerable number of schools to make this possible.

With these interventions CONSEPT aims to have a systemic effect on technical vocational education in Moldova.

Objectives:

Vocational training in the trades of cook, baker, electrician, tailor/seamstress, welder, plasterer, as well as in the speciality of heating and gas supply and ventilation technician is more qualitative and efficient.

Career Path Tracking:

The issue of monitoring the career path of graduates of technical vocational education institutions and the degree of their insertion into the labour market have become major topics on the agenda of the LED team. The aim of the career pathway tracking exercise is to obtain data on whether the knowledge, skills and competences acquired are sufficient to enable graduates to enter the labour market, develop their own business, continue their studies.
