Today, investment in education, in skill building and in developing human capacity is a very important aspect for a society to improve economic environment. When people are empowered educationally, socially and economically, then they can contribute their share to the prospering future of their country.
Therefore, in supporting Moldova’s efforts to carry out its reforms for economic recovery, LED intervention is centered on human resources development with primary focus on vocational education, pre-school education, entrepreneurship training. LED supports various projects that underpin the Ministry of Education to enhance the quality of educational services provided within above mentioned sectors.
Strengthening Vocational Training in Moldova (CONSEPT) is a project, funded and implemented by LED that aims at sustaining the VET system modernization and adjustment of training delivery to labor market demands. These outcomes are fostered by the inputs into schools staff development and provision of workshop equipment.
The importance of entrepreneurship education is increasingly recognized. LED is funding the project Moldovan Employment and Entrepreneurship Education and Training Activity (MEEETA), implemented by Winrock Moldova. The general objective of this project is to economically empower the youth and to strengthen the vocational schools to deliver up to date entrepreneurship courses.
A good start in life for rural children in Moldova is a project also funded by LED and implemented by Step by Step Moldova. The project focuses on training the staff and development of adaptable programs for parents/caregivers and children for the Community Centers, which have been set up in the framework of the Education For All / Fast Track Initiative and by UNICEF.
In its attempts to strengthen social cohesion and inclusion through education, LED supports projects aiming at improving the access to quality education for children and youth in Moldova, in particular those who are marginalized socially, culturally and economically. The Pestalozzi Children’s Foundation is focusing on intercultural dialogue, children’s rights and quality education.
