LED is a private foundation of the Government and the civil society of Liechtenstein. We implement foreign aid on behalf of the Government of Liechtenstein. Active mainly in rural areas in the sectors of education and rural development. LED is audited by the National Audit Office of Liechtenstein.
LED started its activity in September 2007 focusing on the education sector. LED aims at contributing to the improvement of the education system in general and vocational education in particular. We support various education projects. Besides funding and monitoring projects implemented by local NGO's, LED is also implementing projects, specifically on the VET level.
LED is seeking good coordination of its activities with the governmental structures, with actors of the civil society and with other donors and project implementers in Moldova. LED feels a twofold accountability for using its resources efficiently and effectively - towards the people in Moldova and towards the people in Liechtenstein.
